Raiano
Raiano, with about 3,000 inhabitants, lies 1276ft above sea level in the western part of the Peligna Valley. It is at 170km from State Road 5 Via Tiburtina Valeria and right on the traces of the old shepherd paths from Celano to Foggia. Plinius the Old offers a famous tripartite description of the people and territories in the Peligna Valley in his Naturalis Historia: “Paelignorum Corfinienses, Superequani et Sulmonenses".
Olive Oil As soon as they finish picking the olives in the Peligna Valley, they are immediately brought to the oil mill, where they are pressed to obtain an excellent extra virgin olive oil.
